Introduction

Ayrton started at the age of two when he was bought an electric car to use in the family back garden in Epping, Essex.

He could not get enough of the car and would drive it daily until the batteries were completely flat.

At the age of 4, The Simmons moved to Madrid, Spain. This turned out to be a real blessing for drivers as the local circuit had free testing for members for five days every week.

He raced his first cadet kart at the age of 5 on a circuit that has seen the likes of Fernando Alonso, Carlos Sainz. By the age of 8 Ayrton was champion of Madrid.

At the age of 11 Ayrton qualified for the Karting Rotax World Finals (which he won) by winning the Rotax Iberian Cup (Spain & Portugal), becoming a World Karting Champion.

From an early age, this talent was recognized, and this has been part of what makes him different from other athletes.
